Estimator and Planning Specialist

Location: Bristol

Salary: 34,775 ppa

Proactive Global is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Estimator and Planning Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in estimating and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications provided by clients.
  • Prepare precise cost estimates for materials, labor, and services using an ERP system for client quotations.
  • Address technical inquiries from clients and suppliers.
  • Generate estimates for outsourced items and engineering costs.
  • Identify new suppliers and subcontractors to ensure optimal value and competitive lead times.
  • Provide comprehensive manufacturing steps, including tooling, bills of materials, and process routings.
  • Assist with purchasing during peak periods.
  • Collaborate with management to implement company policies and objectives.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the business.

Requirements:

  • Commercial engineering experience is essential, preferably with a toolroom background in the Aerospace sector.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC literacy is required.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A flexible, courteous, and positive demeanor is essential.
  • Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • A recognized engineering trade qualification is required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in purchasing is also beneficial.

  • Monday to Thursday: 7.30am to 4pm, Friday: 7.30am to 1pm (37.5 hours per week).
  • 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays (3 days reserved for Christmas).
