About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Ark Academy. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs or a Disability (SEND) to make good progress in the mainstream curriculum.

You will work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to provide in-class support and small-group teaching in Key Stage 3-4. A calm and patient manner, as well as a nurturing approach, are essential for this role. You will also be responsible for liaising with the SENCo, class teachers, and parents of the children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specific and direct support to children with SEND, ensuring they make good progress in the mainstream curriculum.
  • Work alongside the SENCo and class teachers to provide in-class support and small-group teaching in Key Stage 3-4.
  • Liaise with the SENCo, class teachers, and parents of the children.
Requirements
  • Hold GCSE English & Maths grade C and above, or equivalent.
  • Have the Right to work in the UK.
