About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Events Sous Chef to join our team at The Barbican Centre, a renowned events venue in the heart of London. As an Events Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our clients and their guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality food and service to our clients and their guests, including assisting senior chefs with functions in different areas of the business.
  • Manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the executive chef, ensuring smooth operation and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Assist in training junior staff, developing their skills and knowledge to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Liaise with key team members to plan for the provision of food in all areas of the business, ensuring seamless execution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Place orders directly with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high standards of quality and freshness.
  • Ensure the smooth running of daily operations, including maintaining stock levels, controlling waste, and ensuring the presentation of food is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
