Position: Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Location: London

Salary Range: £75,000 - £95,000

Skilled Careers Ltd is seeking a talented Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor to contribute to a prominent Main Contractor's projects.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a Commercial Manager on a significant Life Science development in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an experienced Commercial Manager on a New Build Life Science Project.
  • Support the creation of approved tender lists and conduct budget analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation.
  • Participate in the commercial evaluation of tenders, including meetings and supplemental bid documentation.
  • Help prepare contract documentation for execution.
  • Review trade contracts and consultant submissions from a commercial standpoint, providing reports and responses as needed.
  • Engage with contractors and Client representatives to ensure effective communication regarding instructions, costs, and change orders.
  • Maintain up-to-date accounts throughout various contract durations.
  • Assist in inspecting trade contract works for quality and completion from a commercial perspective.
  • Prepare interim valuations for progress payments.
  • Negotiate and finalize accounts.
  • Forecast and monitor project cash flow.
  • Regularly forecast trade contract costs.
  • Analyze final accounts to inform cost planning.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for insurance claims.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Support amendments to cost plans.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor with a UK Main Contractor.
  • Background in large-scale Commercial or Residential New Build projects.
  • Aspirations to advance to a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor role.
