About the Role

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Deputy Team Leader - Surgical Services. As a key member of the theatre management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the theatres and staff on a daily basis, providing supervision, organization, and coordination of the staff, theatres, and all aspects of service provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exercise leadership by personal example, fostering good interpersonal relationships and encouraging high staff morale.
  • Coordinate and communicate the placement of appropriate personnel/skills across the department and other areas in the Trust, including in the event of untoward incidents.
  • Undertake designated responsibilities in the event of a MAJAX in accordance with trust guidelines.
  • Participate in the management of resources in the clinical area within the agreed budget.
  • Implement Trust and directorate evidence-based policies and guidelines.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner on the appropriate part of the NMC/Health Care Professions Council register.
  • To have completed the mentorship preparation programme or equivalent.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Significant experience at Band 5, of which some should be in a position relevant to the specialty.

Desirable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence.
