Job Title: Network and Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Network and Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team at ParentPay Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our internal and production networks, ensuring the highest level of security and stability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network configurations, including Cisco firewalls and switches, to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Network Analyst, Service Ops team, and Engineering teams to resolve escalated problems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our service to our customer base, ensuring SLAs are exceeded and customer feedback is consistently high.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues within and outside the Engineering team for issues related to our application and platforms.
  • Improve existing systems and capacity monitoring.
  • Adhere to internal processes, including change, incident, and problem management.
  • Ensure all aspects of the system are adequately documented and reviewed.
Requirements:
  • Strong Cisco Networking skills (ASA's, Switches, Firepower, FTD) - CCNA.
  • Good extended network administration experience, Load balancers, VMWare, WAN, WLAN, and LAN configurations, network problem solving.
  • SDWAN Experience (Juniper SRX).
  • Excellent understanding of DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP.
  • Experience working in a change control environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret fault descriptions.
  • ITSM experience, i.e., server desk plus, ServiceNow.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize own workload.

Good knowledge of the following would also be advantageous:

  • Configuration and support of VMWare ESX environments.
  • Microsoft SQL server experience.
  • Windows Server and desktop management and configuration.
  • Network Load Balancers.
  • Hosting.
  • Network monitoring software experience, e.g., Solarwinds, PRTG, Logic Monitor.
  • Enterprise storage.
