About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Manager to join our team at Maximus UK. As a key member of our Data & Analytics team, you will be responsible for coordinating projects and data processes, as well as line managing DevOps Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the setup, configuration, and management of the Maximus Data platforms, ensuring capacity, security, availability, and disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Support the Data Architect in defining and maintaining the Data Architecture roadmap.
  • Monitor Data platforms and data flows, coordinating issue resolution and ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
  • Line management of DevOps Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Configuration of data management, visualisation, and analytical platforms in support of DnA service delivery, including Azure Databricks / Delta Lake and Synapse, SQLServer, Analysis Services / PowerBI.
  • Implement automated processes to reduce effort for colleagues in setup and maintenance of data platforms, leveraging tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions for Data Platform Incidents, determining root cause and implementing fixes, coordinating with other teams as necessary.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification and significant experience working as a BI Data Platform Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines, preferably in Azure Devops but other similar tools will be considered.
  • Experience in developing release processes and documentation.
  • Experience in using version control tools, i.e. GIT.
  • BI platform project experience utilising Microsoft enterprise BI stack / Azure.
  • Integrating tooling, e.g. code quality, security, test frameworks, etc.
  • Experience of Azure Data Lake, Azure Devops and analytics components, including Data Bricks, Data Factory, Synapse and Analysis Services.
  • Experience of designing, implementing, and maintaining data platforms and solutions.
  • Experience in working in Agile teams.
  • Ability to collaborate across BI / IT teams internally and externally to deliver projects.
  • Delivery of priorities to standard and deadline using a logical and commercial approach and excellent time management skills.
  • Highly effective and professional communication skills when working with both team colleagues and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, when interacting with team colleagues and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work accurately under time pressure.
