About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities to join our team at NHS Professionals. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strong understanding of estates and facilities management, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and align the Trust's estate strategy with clinical and corporate objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including Trust Board, Clinical Directors, and Staff Representatives.
  • Financial Management: Manage significant revenue and capital budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • People Management: Lead and develop teams across various functions and disciplines.
  • Information Management: Oversee property databases and information systems for estates and facilities.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
  • New Hospital Development: Support the development of business cases for new build projects.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Relevant degree and (ideally, but not essentially) post-graduate qualification (level 8).
  • Skills, Knowledge & Experience: Broad understanding of the NHS context and national agenda, extensive senior management experience in estates and facilities, technical, construction, and project management skills, proven track record in strategic planning and budget management, effective partnership working across sectors, financial control and risk management expertise, achieving ambitious targets within tight budgets, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
