About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Homes for Students. As a key member of our property maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the high-quality condition and upkeep of our student accommodation properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including painting, unblocking drains, fixing taps, and changing lightbulbs.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify and report any maintenance issues.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure timely and effective resolution of maintenance requests.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of health and safety protocols and legal requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding promptly to their maintenance requests and keeping them informed of progress.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience in property maintenance or a related trade, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage competing deadlines without close supervision.
  • Proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative and resolve issues or problems quickly and effectively.
