About the Role
The Company: AviadoBio is a pioneering biotechnology company dedicated to developing groundbreaking gene therapies for frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Our mission is to translate cutting-edge science into life-changing medicines.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to lead the development of robust processes for the manufacture of viral vectors used in our gene therapy programs. As a key member of our Process Development team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and compliance of our processes with industry standards.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize upstream and downstream processes for AAV vector production, driving product yield and quality improvements.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions to enhance process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and industry standards throughout the development process.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytical Development and Quality Assurance teams to advance project goals.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submissions and documentation needed for clinical trials.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating new insights into process improvements.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field, with extensive experience in process development for gene therapy or biologics. Your expertise should include both upstream and downstream processing of viral vectors, with a focus on AAV. Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis software are essential. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are also required.
