Job Title: Senior Process Development Scientist
Job Summary:
The King's College London Gene Therapy Vector Facility (GTVF) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Development Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our process development group, you will be responsible for the development and optimization of platform processes for viral vectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize platform processes for viral vectors
- Work closely with colleagues in MSAT, Production, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control to ensure manufacturing processes are evaluated and optimized
- Lead projects/programmes of work under the direction of the Head of Process Development/Technical Director
- Propose targeted lab work to optimize processes prior to manufacture
- Support risk assessments, biological safety evaluation, and identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes
Requirements:
- Experience of working in commercial companies within process development at Pharma/Biotech/Contract Manufacturing organisation (CMO) sectors
- Experience gained in process development of viral vector purification demonstrating optimisation of processes by delivering improvements in yield, quality, and reproducibility
- Experience of running analytical techniques to analyse and quantify viral vector titres and quality and working with cell culture techniques
- Experience in using chromatography equipment and software
- Design and execution of experiments using DOE software under the direction of a head of department or technical director and their implementation in Process Development
