Civil Litigation Solicitor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Solicitor to join our team in Hertfordshire. As a key member of our litigation department, you will be responsible for managing a range of civil litigation matters from initial instruction through to conclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of civil litigation cases, including breach of contract, debt recovery, property litigation, and professional negligence claims.
  • Provide cost estimates to clients and progress matters in line with our firm's procedures and the SRA's guidelines.
  • Open files and ensure that all cases are handled efficiently and with the highest level of client service.
  • Advise clients on their legal position and provide clear communication on the progress of their cases.
  • Analyse complex legal issues and convey them effectively to clients through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in law, with a particular focus on litigation.
  • At least one year's post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • Experience in consulting and/or trial consulting.
  • Familiarity with litigation support tools and technology.
  • Solid commercial awareness of the legal industry.
  • Familiarity with Pre-action Protocols and Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships at all levels.
  • Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail.
