Job Title: Machine Shop Team Leader

At New Appointments Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Team Leader to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and provide leadership to the machine shop team.
  • Program, set, and operate Manual and CNC Mills and Lathes, and act as mentor and trainer on their use.
  • Create work packages using the ERP system and monitor progress through the shop.
  • Carry out Daily Start-Up Meetings and allocate and manage tasks assigned to the team to meet the requirements of the Plan.
  • Monitor and report on the situation relating to the performance of the team.
  • Measure and record appropriate metrics to support relevant KPIs, and use these KPIs to determine appropriate actions to improve the performance of the team.
  • Carry out staff appraisals and reviews.
  • Ensure the workforce has the appropriate skill sets through training and development, and that it is motivated and performing to expectations.
  • Implement best practices to improve production throughput, capacity, quality, and reliability.
  • Implement a culture of continuous improvement using appropriate tools and techniques such as lean manufacturing and 5S.
