About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Accountant Specialist to join our client's Housing Regulation Branch. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a modern, tailored, proportionate, and cost-effective regulatory process that protects the interests of tenants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, assess, and report on the performance of Registered Housing Associations (RHAs) and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) in relation to housing activities.
  • Monitor their financial well-being and standards of governance, and engage with them to achieve regulatory objectives.
  • Create a viable, efficient, well-governed social housing sector that delivers homes to meet a range of needs.
  • Ensure social housing tenants are protected and provided opportunities to be involved with their RHA.
What You'll Need
  • Be a fully qualified accountant, having successfully completed professional examinations, and be a full Member of one of the following bodies: Chartered Accountants Ireland, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, or The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.
  • Have previous experience in a NICS and/or regulatory environment, which would be desirable.
