Role Overview

Are you dedicated to fostering positive outcomes for children? Do you possess strong communication and problem-solving skills? We are seeking two individuals to assist with behavioral support as part of a two-year fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

As a Child Behavior Support Specialist, you will:

  • Provide support to children and young people in various environments, including managing challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate within the educational sector to implement Positive Behavior Support strategies.
  • Engage in direct work with children or young people in either primary or secondary settings, including family involvement.
  • Work with children and young people exhibiting concerning behaviors.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding practices and procedures.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of systems and procedures, as well as the development of relevant policies and protocols.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional engagement skills with children and young people.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality targeted services and interventions.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with children and young people who may have complex needs.
  • A solid understanding of current legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies related to behavior and inclusion.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Professionalism in representing the Authority and maintaining appropriate boundaries with children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
