Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a HGV Chargehand/Technician at Veolia ES (UK) LIMITED. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and technical skills to oversee and assist the Technician team within the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and assist the Technician team in the workshop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with MOT regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage the workshop's daily workload, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of new oil levels, waste oil levels, and contractor activity.
  • Ensure that the workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times, and that all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Assist with the allocation of daily work and prioritization of tasks, ensuring that all jobs are completed on time.
  • Monitor and report on near miss incidents, off-job cards, and inspection reports.
  • Assist with the Parts Department, ensuring that all parts are properly ordered and stocked.
  • Perform other general work as required by the Workshop Management Team.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds, or NVQ level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of MOT regulations.
