Job Description

Job Title: Lead English Teacher

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Westbury

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our team as a Lead English Teacher. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK curriculum and the ability to teach English to students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement the English curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Lesson Planning: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that support pupils to make good or outstanding progress.
  • Target Setting: Set clear targets for pupils' learning, taking into account prior attainment and individual needs.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess pupil work and progress, providing regular feedback to inform teaching.
  • Behaviour Management: Manage behaviour in line with school policy, creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Pastoral Support: Provide pastoral support to pupils as required.
  • Professional Development: Take responsibility for own professional development, engaging with performance management activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience of teaching English to students with special educational needs.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of the UK curriculum, excellent teaching and behaviour management skills.
