Aviation Rescue Specialist

An exciting opportunity has emerged for additional Aviation Rescue Specialists within Marshall.

An Aviation Rescue Specialist at an airport is engaged in a diverse array of critical operational tasks, including aircraft marshalling, baggage management, wildlife hazard control, snow removal, aircraft de-icing, and aircraft towing.

This role is centered around customer service, requiring interaction with passengers and flight crews to ensure a positive experience. Demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy while executing essential operational duties is crucial.

Marshall promotes a collaborative environment; therefore, while you will primarily focus on fire service responsibilities or operate in a bustling airside setting, there may be occasions when you are requested to assist in other areas to uphold exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a safe and efficient rescue and firefighting service to those in need.
  • Responding to various incidents, including aircraft emergencies and first aid situations.
  • Maintaining a high level of proficiency by engaging in a thorough on-station training program, along with biannual attendance at an international fire training center.
  • Documenting training progress through personal training records.
  • Assisting with routine testing and inspections of firefighting equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintaining administrative records for regulatory evaluations.
  • Providing support to passengers with disabilities or patients transported by air ambulance.
  • Conducting educational outreach to schools and community groups to explain the purpose of our service.
  • Performing aircraft marshalling and other ramp-related duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, civil aviation authority directives, and airport policies at all times.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in IT applications.
  • Familiarity with UK Regulation (EU) 139/2014.
  • Understanding of CAP 168, CAP 772, and CAP 699.
  • Knowledge of emergency response plans.

Education:

  • Strong numerical and literacy skills.
  • Valid UK Driving License.
  • Fire Service Certificate of Competency.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in fire services.
  • Experience in airport operations in various capacities.
  • LGV qualification.
  • First aid certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to successfully complete enhanced security screenings.
  • Physically fit and capable of meeting prescribed physical standards.
  • Willingness to work early and late shifts, including unsociable hours.
