We are seeking a Construction Manager to enhance our team at Kier Group.

Role Overview: This position is based in the West Midlands, with responsibilities extending to various project sites across the region.

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

As a Construction Manager , you will play a crucial role in the execution of our construction initiatives, particularly within the Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) programme. This programme is vital for upgrading infrastructure to meet the growing demands on our water systems, driven by population growth and increased stormwater management needs.

Daily Activities: Your typical day will involve:

  • Ensuring safety and operational efficiency on-site, which includes conducting thorough inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
  • Enhancing productivity by effectively assigning tasks, coordinating work activities, and supervising site personnel.
  • Managing site resources by organizing and procuring necessary equipment, machinery, and materials.
  • Collaborating with management to develop safe and cost-effective work practices while maintaining accurate records of daily site activities.
  • Upholding compliance with safety protocols, method statements, and risk assessments, while enforcing the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Implementing quality assurance measures, including Short Interval Control procedures and overseeing the daily maintenance of all systems.

Candidate Profile: This role is ideal for you if:

  • You possess a Level 6 qualification in Construction Site Management or a related discipline, or hold a Higher National Certificate/Diploma or degree in Construction Management.
  • You have demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in managing construction site operations.
  • You hold a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Supervisor - Gold Experienced Supervisor or Manager.
  • You have completed site-related training, including confined space, fire marshal, first aid, and temporary work supervisor certifications.
