Financial Services Advisory Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Advisory Governance Specialist to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Financial Services team, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance to our clients in the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning and delivery of assignments, including Skilled Person reviews, regulatory driven reviews, and internal control and assurance reviews.
- Develop and implement effective governance and risk management frameworks for financial services firms.
- Provide subject matter expertise on corporate governance, board effectiveness, credit risk, risk management frameworks, SMCR, operational resilience, conduct risk, D&I, and culture.
- Collaborate with senior managers, directors, and partners to deliver high-quality outcomes and develop client relationships.
- Support the wider leadership team in developing market propositions and driving business growth.
- Proven experience in governance and risk management, preferably in a professional services, consulting, or financial services firm or regulator.
- Strong knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory environment, including the FCA and PRA.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Project management skills and a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
- People management experience and commercial awareness.
