Key Responsibilities:
As a Legal Secretary, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the department. Your main duties will include:
- Document Management: Typing legal documents from hand-written notes or transcribing digital dictation. Managing the flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department.
- Communication: Handling inquiries, managing the Fee Earners' diaries, and organising internal and external meetings. You'll also be responsible for scanning, emailing, and faxing correspondence.
- File Management: Opening and closing files, ensuring all documents are properly filed.
- Support: Providing assistance to other secretaries across the firm during times of urgent need or when workloads are light.
Specialist Skills:
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Word is essential. Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, and a Practice Management System will be advantageous.
- Communication: Excellent telephone skills and a clear, professional writing style are required.
- Attention to Detail: A well-organised, conscientious approach is crucial.
