We are seeking a Transport Account Manager to join our dedicated team at Tarmac. This role is primarily office-based and involves a high level of expertise in account management, achieving commercial success through various communication channels, including telephony, email, and face-to-face interactions on an as-needed basis across the region. This position offers flexibility in location within the North of England.

Key Responsibilities

The Transport Account Manager will report to the Senior Logistics Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the division maintains a fleet of suitable vehicles that meet operational and logistical needs.
  • Identifying and implementing effective working methods and practices to enhance fleet management, while measuring the financial and environmental impacts of these services.
  • Overseeing compliance with legal regulations to ensure continuous and effective management of transport operations.
  • Supporting Tarmac's budget framework to guarantee proper maintenance and investment in the fleet.
  • Driving performance through national and regional logistics key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Managing fleet size and vehicle types to optimize demands in alignment with forecasts.
  • Monitoring and analyzing driver hours to ensure compliance with EU regulations.
  • Developing and implementing Transport Safety Improvement Plans to reduce costs and enhance utilization.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate for the Transport Account Manager position will possess experience in a similar role and environment, demonstrating:

  • A strong understanding of transport regulations, including O Licence and Driver Hours.
  • The ability to lead, develop, and inspire teams to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: Transport Manager CPC
  • Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely

Knowledge Requirements

  • Transport Management (EU & GB Domestic Rules)
