We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Nurse Specialist to lead our team and provide specialist care to children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities in mental health crisis.

Main Responsibilities

As a Community Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the nursing team and developing interventions for children with autism and learning disabilities. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide assessment and treatment programs, and collaborate with relevant agencies to reduce hospitalizations of young individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the nursing team and develop interventions for children with autism and learning disabilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment programs for children and young people with mental health needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and agencies to reduce hospitalizations and improve outcomes
  • Develop and implement service developments and staff management strategies

Requirements

  • Registered mental health/LD nurse with postgraduate qualification
  • Experience in complex methods of assessment and intervention
  • Proven track record of service development and staff management
