Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Restaurant Manager to oversee our vibrant team at Harajuku Kitchen, an award-winning Japanese dining venue.
Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 5 days per week
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in a similar capacity within a dynamic restaurant environment, or for a capable Restaurant Supervisor or Duty Manager looking to advance their career. You will collaborate closely with our Owner and Management team to ensure exceptional customer service while managing Front of House operations. Additionally, you will have the creative freedom to develop your own team, design specials, and explore innovative marketing strategies for the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily restaurant operations, focusing on staff management, customer satisfaction, and upholding high-quality standards.
- Supervise and mentor restaurant staff, fostering effective communication and leading by example.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
- Oversee inventory management and order supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance sales and profitability.
- Work with the kitchen team to innovate new menu items and specials.
- Assist in preparing operational reports, including staff and stock control, as well as sales performance.
- Help organize marketing initiatives, such as promotional events and discount programs.
- Manage maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, health, and safety within a clean and organized restaurant environment.
- Collaborate with the business owner to bring creative visions to fruition.
- Take responsibility for the quality of service provided.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced Japanese bistro is preferred; experience in a similarly sized restaurant and working under pressure is essential.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and motivation.
Passion for the Restaurant Industry:
- Customer-centric approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to enhancing guest experiences.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and current food trends.
- Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with bartending practices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
