Main Contacts:

The Adult Mental Health Senior Practitioner will be a key member of the ADHD/ASD service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality assessment and formulation for adults presenting with ADHD/ASD, as well as delivering evidence-based interventions. Additionally, the post holder will be encouraged to develop a specific therapeutic modality as a specialty for the service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. To ensure accurate and comprehensive assessment of adults referred to the ADHD/ASD service.
  2. To provide access to a range of quality psychotherapeutic interventions in accordance with individual assessed need.
  3. This will include the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of various therapeutic approaches either alone or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. To deliver therapeutic input to adults referred to the team and provide carers with relevant information.
  5. Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team as required.
  6. To manage a defined caseload and undertake case management responsibilities within the caseload.
  7. To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the adult and others in line with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust policies, procedures, and protocols.
  8. To liaise closely with a wide range of agencies regarding individual care packages and promote awareness of adult mental health issues within these agencies.
  9. Undertake liaison and joint work with other professionals outside of the multidisciplinary team.
  10. To ensure accurate collection of relevant information required by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
  11. To regularly monitor the effectiveness of clinical work using Routine Outcome Measures (ROM) and engage in clinical review via peer review meetings and supervision where outcomes are not improving.
Managerial and Administrative:
  1. To attend team, clinical, business, and other meetings as required.
  2. To manage own workload and time effectively.
  3. To maintain accurate record keeping.
  4. To provide and enter data for local information management systems.
  5. To contribute to peer supervision within the adult ADHD/ASD service.
  6. To receive regular clinical management supervision and participate in appraisal.
  7. To participate in the development of education and training programs.
  8. To maintain own education and awareness of current developments within the service.
  9. In conjunction with the Clinical Lead/Primary Care Service Manager, ensure that appropriate supervision is available and attended for any specialist psychotherapeutic treatment intervention offered by the post holder, such as CBT, CAT, or family therapy.
Development:
  1. To maintain a current professional portfolio and participate in programs of personal development and training, which will be identified as part of the individual performance and development review.
  2. To undertake personal development in line with Pennine policy.
  3. To maintain professional registration requirements.
