We are thrilled to present an opportunity to become part of Bellway, one of the leading residential developers in the UK. Our South London Division is seeking a Senior Site Manager to enhance our Construction team.

Position Overview

The Senior Site Manager will report directly to the Head of Construction and will oversee all facets of a construction site, ensuring that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while upholding the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction within the established timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations and provide clear guidance to team members regarding their roles and objectives.
  • Implement and manage health and safety protocols in collaboration with Bellway's Health and Safety Managers, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Inspire, support, and supervise site personnel, delivering training, coaching, and performance enhancement as necessary.
  • Maintain site presentation to the highest standards consistently.
  • Ensure all production requirements are met in strict accordance with relevant technical and planning documentation, as well as any necessary updates.
  • Adhere to building regulations and the requirements of warranty providers.
  • Provide accurate production and progress reports to the Construction Manager or Construction Director as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive site records, including Site Manager reports, labor needs, equipment, materials, site inductions, and health and safety documentation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all remedial work is completed prior to each key stage inspection.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a reputable residential builder.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams.
  • Current knowledge of health and safety and building regulations.

Education and Certifications

  • GCSE in Maths and English – Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level (or equivalent).
  • Valid SMSTS certification.
  • Valid First Aid certification.
  • Construction Management qualifications such as HNC Level 4, HND Level 5, or NVQ Level 6 are desirable.
  • Desirable certifications include Scaffold Appreciation and LOLER.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and listening abilities.
  • Effective administrative skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Committed to promoting diversity and inclusion.
