What Are We Seeking?
Our Asset Management & Technical Services division is in search of a Lead Project Coordinator to enhance our team.
You will take charge of the planning, execution, and completion of projects while adhering to strict timelines and budget constraints. This role involves securing resources and orchestrating the efforts of team members and external contractors or consultants to ensure project delivery aligns with established plans.
The Lead Project Coordinator will also set project objectives and supervise quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesSome of your primary responsibilities will include:
- Defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables that align with business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Creating comprehensive project plans and related communication documents.
- Estimating the necessary resources and participants to meet project objectives.
- Preparing and submitting budget proposals and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Negotiating with department managers for the acquisition of essential personnel within the organization.
- Assessing the need for additional staff or consultants and making appropriate recruitment decisions during the project lifecycle.
- Conducting staff evaluations in accordance with the company's established timetable.
- Setting and continuously managing project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
- Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical paths.
- Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using suitable tools.
- Monitoring project milestones and deliverables.
- Developing and presenting progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Determining the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzing results, and addressing problem areas.
- Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and formulating contingency plans.
- Defining project success criteria and communicating them to all involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducting post-project evaluations and generating recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Developing best practices and tools for effective project execution and management.
What Do You Need?
- A degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior engineering role.
- A solid understanding of civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines within the water sector.
- Strong project management skills encompassing all phases of project development, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Experience in preconstruction design and cost evaluation.
- Proficiency in design estimation and cost planning.
- Proven experience in personnel management.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to elicit cooperation from a diverse range of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
- Experience in managing NEC contracts is advantageous.
- Experience in the water sector is highly desirable, although expertise from other specialized engineering fields will be considered.
