Position Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Lead Radiographer to become part of our growing team at The New Foscote Hospital.
As a member of our esteemed institution, the selected candidate will deliver top-tier care within a pristine and well-equipped environment.
In this position, the Radiographer will not only engage in clinical responsibilities but will also oversee administrative functions within the Radiology Department. Currently, our facility offers x-ray, Ultrasound, and CT imaging services, with plans for an MRI unit underway.
This role specifically requires a Lead Radiographer proficient in conducting x-ray and CT imaging.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties include:
- Ensuring the provision of high-quality Radiology services to all patient demographics.
- Assisting in the efficient operation of the Radiology Department.
- Delivering inpatient and outpatient Radiography services of the utmost quality, following directives from referring Consultants and GPs, while contributing to the enhancement of departmental services.
- Providing respectful and compassionate treatment to patients, colleagues, and referring physicians.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting routine Radiography for both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring high-quality imaging while minimizing patient exposure.
- Performing routine CT scans as required.
- Adhering strictly to protocols concerning x-ray usage.
- Maintaining all imaging equipment in optimal condition and reporting any issues to the Imaging Lead.
- Participating in quality assurance programs.
- Managing patient appointments and daily workload organization.
- Verifying patient information prior to examinations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Alerting clinicians to any identified abnormalities for urgent reporting.
- Staying informed about current developments in radiography.
- Embedding Clinical Governance and risk management into daily practices.
- Administering IV contrast as necessary.
- Ensuring patients understand the procedures for account settlements and report retrieval.
- Assisting with clerical tasks and supporting radiologists as needed.
- Actively participating as a team member in all work aspects.
- Upholding Health and Safety policies and regulations.
- Promoting the department and hospital positively.
- Contributing ideas for improvements and revenue generation during staff meetings.
- Ensuring the safety of all individuals in radiation-controlled areas.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and managing images on PACS.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Registered Clinician with HCPC.
- Degree or Diploma DCR(R) from the College of Radiographers.
- Evidence of substantial Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in relevant clinical subjects.
- IV injection certification.
