Position Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Lead Radiographer to become a vital part of our growing team at The New Foscote Hospital.
As a member of our esteemed facility, the selected candidate will deliver care of the utmost quality in a well-maintained and comfortable environment.
In this position, the Radiographer will not only engage in clinical duties but will also oversee administrative responsibilities within the Radiology Department. Currently, our hospital offers x-ray, Ultrasound, and CT scanning services, with plans for an MRI facility underway.
This role specifically requires a Lead Radiographer proficient in conducting x-ray and CT scans.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties:
- Ensure the provision of a high-quality Radiology service to all patient demographics.
- Support the daily operations of the Radiology Department.
- Deliver Inpatient and Outpatient Radiography services at the highest standard, adhering to directives from referring Consultants and GPs, while contributing to the enhancement of departmental services.
- Interact with patients, colleagues, and referring physicians with respect, kindness, and professionalism.

Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct routine Radiography for all patients, ensuring high-quality imaging while minimizing patient exposure.
- Perform routine CT scans for both Inpatients and Outpatients as required.
- Adhere strictly to protocols regarding x-ray usage.
- Maintain equipment in optimal working condition and report any issues to the Imaging Lead.
- Participate in quality assurance programs.
- Assist with patient scheduling and manage daily workload effectively.
- Verify patient information prior to examinations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
- Alert clinicians to any identified abnormalities for timely reporting.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay informed about advancements in radiography.
- Ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management practices are integrated into daily operations.
- Administer IV contrast as necessary.
- Facilitate patient understanding of billing procedures and report acquisition.
- Support clerical duties and collaborate with radiologists as needed.
- Actively participate as a team member in all work-related aspects.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Promote the department and hospital positively at all times.
- Attend regular team meetings and contribute to discussions on improvements and service enhancements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage imaging data on PACS.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registered Clinician with HCPC.
- Degree or Diploma DCR(R) from the College of Radiographers.
- Evidence of substantial Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in relevant clinical areas.
- IV injection competence certification.
