Overview: Amazon Freight Europe is on the lookout for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Director to join our Finance Strategy & Expansion team. This role is pivotal in externalizing our freight operations, ensuring we deliver an exceptional freight experience for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitability and enhance customer satisfaction by influencing the planning, development, and execution of our transportation network.
  • Quickly assimilate operational knowledge to understand the broader context and develop relevant financial metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with business leaders to influence data-driven decisions, collaborating across Europe and North America.
  • Partner closely with Product, Program, Operations, and Commercial leaders to define and implement the expansion strategy, proactively addressing challenges and opportunities.
  • Lead the long-term financial planning for Amazon Freight, working with stakeholders to shape strategies and investments that ensure success.
  • Evaluate the potential of investments, expansion initiatives, and product offerings to maximize profitability.
  • Provide insights and analyses that directly impact senior management decisions, guiding our growth trajectory.
  • Process complex and sometimes ambiguous data to identify key risks and assist operations in developing efficient, customer-centric solutions.
  • Challenge stakeholders respectfully, using compelling data-driven arguments to ensure decisions are well-founded and aligned with our strategic goals.
  • Draft and present essential documents to leadership, guiding ideas from conception to execution.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in delivering results for large, cross-functional projects.
  • Expertise in addressing complex business challenges through accurate financial modeling, analysis, and recommendations that yield tangible business impacts.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent financial experience.
  • Experience in identifying and rectifying incomplete or inaccurate data, along with implementing effective escalation plans.
  • Background in multiple finance and accounting roles.
