Position Overview

At the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, we are in search of a Lead Financial Strategist to enhance our vibrant finance team in managing the daily functions of our financial department.

Role Responsibilities

As a Lead Financial Strategist, you will be pivotal in assisting the Head of Finance and Operations with the oversight of our financial activities. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the precision and effectiveness of our financial processes.

  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of the debtor's ledger and implement effective credit control measures.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Officer on various financial initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entries in accounting software and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage the general ledger and oversee the fixed assets register.
  • Supervise project finances and assist project managers with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented individual capable of managing a demanding workload while contributing to the strategic financial planning of the Institute. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of essential financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Experience with web-based accounting systems and payroll software.
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations and payroll preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
