Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to lead our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team.
About the Role:We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to manage the care pathway for young people at The Darwin Centre from referral to discharge. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective communication with families, referrers, and external agencies, as well as managing commissioning arrangements, bed management, and case load management for the team.

- Ensure effective communication with families, referrers, and external agencies.
- Manage commissioning arrangements, bed management, and case load management for the team.
- Have overall management responsibility for the delivery of care within the unit, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Lead a team of clinical staff in the delivery of high-quality evidence-based practice, ensuring regular supervision, appraisal, and mandatory training takes place.
- Ensure that all children and families have high-quality comprehensive and collaborative care plans that include evidence-based assessments and interventions and address risks.
- Ensure the programme of assessment and therapeutic activities is maintained and developed to a high standard, is evidenced-based, and in line with NICE guidelines, QNIC, and CQC standards.
- Oversee and support the team's management of clinical risk and offer advice and guidance when necessary.
- Support the clinical team to create accurate documents of their observations and assessments to a standard that could inform child protection procedures.
- Ensure that for each child, a discharge report is created that provides a comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment.
- Ensure that systems that operate for staff support and supervision are maintained.
- Be accountable for own professional practice and maintain standards described in own profession's code of conduct, legislation, government guidelines, trust policies, and research.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are easily accessible to staff, are current, and that unit policies are reviewed regularly.
- Professional qualification in Nursing
- Current registration with the NMC
- Post-graduate qualification or significant experience related to child, adolescent, or family mental health
- Training in supervision
- Physical intervention training
- Experience of working in an intensive service with children and/or families
- Good understanding and experience in delivering clinical and management supervision
- Experience and understanding of performance management
- Experience, knowledge, and training in management and leadership
- Comprehensive understanding of the MHA, Children's Act, and safeguarding
- Experience, knowledge, and training in policy and service development
- Ability and vision in developing personal and professional practice of self and others in relation to unit needs and government and trust policy
- Willingness and enthusiasm to get involved in physical activities with children in order to provide a role model for parents
