Job Title: Diagnostic Radiographer (MRI)

Job Summary:

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and patient-centered diagnostic radiographer to join our MRI team within the Radiology Clinical Service Unit. As an MRI radiographer, you will cover a broad spectrum of clinical MRI imaging, including oncology, GI imaging, liver, neurology, vascular, pediatrics, acute in-patients, and more.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans
  • Maintain high-quality patient records
  • Provide patient care
  • Review patient MRI safety issues and make decisions on MRI safety, including scanning of active implants
  • Cannulate patients
  • Administer a range of drugs
  • Perform scans for research purposes
  • Train other staff and students
  • Support the weekend out-patient list service
  • Support the overnight, weekend, and bank holiday on-call rota

Our MRI department is one of the largest in the country, with 9 MRI scanners operating across Radiology. We have a strong team of medical physicists who provide educational resources and support for our radiographers. Requirements:

  • BSc (or equivalent) in diagnostic radiography or Diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostics)
  • HCPC registration - Diagnostic Radiography
  • Substantial postgraduate experience working as an MRI radiographer (or willing to work towards a training program under Annex 21)
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of a wide range of general and specialized radiography through academic study at postgraduate level or equivalent
