Role Overview: Government Loan Officer
This position is pivotal within one of the UK's largest Aerospace & Defence organizations, where Thales collaborates with the UK Government to manage a variety of complex equipment. We are seeking a Government Loan Officer (GLO) responsible for Audit, Compliance, and Customer Interface concerning Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
This role is ideally suited for individuals with a strong background in Inventory Management and Supply Chain operations within the Defence sector. It may also appeal to candidates with military experience, particularly in Logistics, Compliance, and Auditing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management and compliance processes of all GFE aspects within the supply chain.
- Act as the company representative during GFE audits and other relevant customer material audits.
- Develop enhanced solutions within the GFE supply chain, including improving the interface with key customers.
- Enhance GFE accountability and ensure transactional compliance.
- Provide administrative support to boost process effectiveness in GFE/CFE areas.
- Engage in the development of solutions to address process challenges.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience in key Supply Chain functions within the Defence industry, including GFE management in accordance with DEFSTAN 05-99 and DEFSTAN 611.
- Demonstrated success in delivering compliant processes and maintaining Quality Assurance throughout the supply chain.
- Adept at managing and enhancing efficiency in customer interactions.
- Experience in developing and implementing audit plans.
- Strong understanding of Defence industry supply chain standards is crucial.
- Experience working across various functions.
- Recognized Supply Chain qualification is preferred.
- Additional relevant awards or recognitions will be advantageous.
Security Clearance Requirement:
This role necessitates SC Clearance. While current clearance is advantageous, it is mandatory for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain SC Clearance. Eligibility typically requires residency in the UK for the past five years, with some exceptions allowing for a minimum of three years.
