Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Carbon and Power Trader to join our client's Commodities trading desk in London. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for structuring, pricing, trading, and managing positions on Carbon and Power contracts to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market making, risk management, and senior staff communication
  • Implementing optimal trading strategies with the Head of Commodity Trading
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trading counterparties
  • Monitoring market levels, competitor pricing, and ensuring accurate risk and profit/loss figures
  • Keeping trading books within risk limits and coordinating with Support units
  • Working with the operations team to settle and deliver financial and physical carbon and power contracts
  • Actively promoting the Carbon and Power franchise with Sales teams
  • Assisting in the automation and digitization of the Carbon and Power business
Requirements:
  • Experience in Carbon and Power trading is essential
  • Strong understanding of Emissions trading schemes in the EU and UK (EU ETS and UK ETS)
  • Ability to conduct light due diligence on carbon projects and liaise with the Sustainability team
  • Strong commercial mindset and high communication skills
