Job Title: Process Safety Engineer

Croda International Plc is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing site in Widnes.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Process Safety Engineer to work under the guidance of the Lead Process Engineer, providing technical process safety expertise to support the promotion of and engagement in process and workplace SHE.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, applying their process safety knowledge and leadership skills to maintain safe and reliable operations and facilitate the delivery of site objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical process safety expertise to support the promotion of and engagement in process and workplace SHE.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to maintain safe and reliable operations.
  • Apply process safety knowledge and leadership skills to facilitate the delivery of site objectives.
  • Work under the guidance of the Lead Process Engineer.
Requirements:
  • Chemical/Process Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years Process Engineer/Process Safety experience.
  • Strong understanding of Process Safety and experience of undertaking and participating in safety studies (PSSR, Pressure Relief, Risk Assessments, Hazard Studies, LoPA, ALARP Demonstration, PUWER, DSEAR, etc.).
  • Able to provide monthly and quarterly updates on Process Safety KPIs.
  • Experience of Management of Change systems and procedures.
  • High degree of analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Proficient in report writing, producing documentation and the development of procedures and training.
  • Experience of supporting production/manufacturing operations.
  • Experience of working within multi-discipline teams.
  • Able to troubleshoot, problem solve, analyse data and suggest improvements.
  • Able to specify process equipment and produce datasheets.
  • Able to undertake project scoping, PFD/P&ID development, and design documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work and communicate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
