About the Role

AWE is a leading organisation in the defence sector, and we are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Defence STEM Undergraduate Scheme. As an engineering undergraduate, you will have the opportunity to work with our team of experts and contribute to the development of our defence capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete an initial placement that requires no prior knowledge of engineering or defence, just a willingness to learn
  • Participate in an immersive experience surrounding the what, how and why of deterrence policy and defence posturing
  • Explore various aspects of defence engineering, including warhead engineering, building design and processes, facilities and plant maintenance, manufacturing engineering, and the lifecycle of the nuclear warhead
  • Undertake a 45-day paid work placement during July/August each summer with AWE
  • Commit to working with us for three years after graduation

Requirements
  • Studying an engineering discipline that is listed with the Engineering Council
  • UK national with a UK passport
