About AWE

We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as Undergraduate Researchers, working alongside experienced scientists and engineers to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for university students to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting, working on projects that have a direct impact on national security.

As an Undergraduate Researcher, you will be part of a small team of scientists and engineers working on a range of projects, from image analysis and explosive modeling to applied computer science and mathematical assessment.

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including data analysis, experimental design, and software development, and will be supported by a line manager and mentor to help you develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the development of new technologies and solutions
  • Collaborate with experienced scientists and engineers to design and implement experiments and projects
  • Develop and maintain software and tools to support data analysis and visualization
  • Present findings and results to the team and stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, or a related field, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
