Job Title: Senior Manager, Global Facilities

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Global Facilities will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations and management in compliance with STERIS standards and governing regulations. This role will provide support to all sites, ensuring facilities are properly managed or maintained, and will work closely with the Director of International Facilities and Real Estate to achieve objectives and directives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for EMEA facilities in line with Global Facilities and Real Estate objectives.
  • Advise on operations of EMEA facilities to align with organizational objectives, including maintenance, repairs, security, and janitorial services.
  • Manage a team of EMEA facilities staff members, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with project management, including collaboration with external project management vendors.
  • Effective use of digital drawing systems, such as CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, and other similar tools.
  • Effective use of digital computer-aided facilities management software, CAFM systems.
  • Assist with data collection and management of facilities assets for preventative maintenance and capital planning.
  • Assist with implementation of STERIS and Global Facilities and Real Estate sustainability initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Act as a liaison between facility director and facility staff, providing regular updates on facility operations and performance.
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor facility and project-based budgets and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in facilities management, project management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years' knowledge of building operations, mechanical and electrical systems, and best practices.
  • 5+ years' knowledge of building maintenance, repair, construction, materials, and equipment.
  • 3+ years' understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • 3+ years' ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
  • 3+ years' experience with reviewing tender/bid offers or similar.
  • 3+ years' experience with sustainability in building and the built environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience with reading and understanding concepts associated with contracts, leases, or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience with mechanical, electrical, and structural design.
  • 5+ years' experience with architectural building design.
  • 5+ years' experience with digital drawing and drafting systems, CAD, or other similar.
  • 5+ years' experience with CAFM, computer-aided facilities management systems.
Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and organize workload.
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to independently visit sites and act credibly and diplomatically as a Facilities and Real Estate representative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate bids/quotes for projects.
  • Must be able to review building schematic plans/drawings and determine compliance.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must have computer proficiency in Microsoft suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
