Job Title: Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care and support to young people, including completing domestic duties and maintaining a homely environment.
  • Encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes by planning and participating in activities.
  • Assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plans to promote the welfare and safety of each young person.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Manage behaviour positively and assertively, working in line with specified care and risk management plans.
  • Consult with young people to promote healthy lifestyles and develop positive networks with adults and peer groups.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and review of packages of care through team meetings and supervisions.
  • Attend and advocate for young people in child care reviews.
Requirements:
  • Understanding and commitment to the role, which is 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable is essential.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, maintain accurate records, and have good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer experience to an intermediate level and ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements.
  • Empathetic nature and good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people.
