Position Overview
Southern Housing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Senior Care and Support Worker. This position is ideal for someone who is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals in need through exceptional care and support.
As a Senior Care and Support Worker, you will collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to ensure that residents receive top-quality care that adheres to CQC regulations and maintains high health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in overseeing staff performance, including conducting supervision sessions, appraisals, and monitoring attendance.
- Stay informed about all relevant legislation and contractual obligations to ensure the delivery of effective and high-quality services.
- Encourage resident participation in daily activities and foster social inclusion within the broader community.
- Support the assessment process for potential residents, as needed.
- Deliver personalized care to residents as outlined in their individual care plans, including intimate personal care when necessary.
- Ensure that care provided promotes independence, respects individual rights, and facilitates community inclusion.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or be actively pursuing this qualification.
- Hold a Basic First Aid certification.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of health and safety practices relevant to the role.
- Have knowledge of local services and resources.
- Exhibit strong listening and communication skills.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Be capable of working independently without supervision.
- Have a foundational understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Maintain composure and professionalism in emergency situations.
- Demonstrate basic IT proficiency.
