Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator Team Lead to lead our Data Platform Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting our PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, as well as providing technical guidance and mentorship to the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and manage a team of DBAs, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Database Administration
    • Responsible for managing and supporting PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
    • Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL, including monitoring the health of database performance.
    • Responsible for all administration activities like backup, recovery, index, replication (RDS), health checkup, etc.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide technical support for database environments/applications, including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, etc.
  • Collaboration
    • Work with development and operations teams to tune production queries for optimal performance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a PostgreSQL and MySQL DBA Team Leader
  • 3+ years of experience with development and production environments
  • 3+ years of database design, optimization & performance tuning
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS or AZURE
  • Application and infrastructure – stored procedures, query optimizations, code quality improvement
  • Linux/Unix – shell scripting, server analysis, infrastructure management
  • Ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team
