Your Mission:

As a Production and Development DBA MySQL Team Lead at Nuvei's Data Platform Team, you will oversee the daily operations, development, and management of critical enterprise database systems in PostgreSQL and MySQL.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DBAs to ensure optimal performance and collaboration.
  • Provide expert support to the development team, assisting with query optimization and software deployment strategies.
  • Manage and maintain both PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
  • Implement robust database installations, configurations, and ongoing maintenance procedures.
  • Execute essential administration tasks such as backups, recovery processes, and security protocols.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to promptly resolve critical database issues and minimize downtime.
  • Continuously optimize database performance by identifying bottlenecks, tuning queries, and implementing best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team regarding database environments and technologies.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of PostgreSQL and MySQL DBAs.
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling clear and concise technical discussions with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to effectively diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
