Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective treatment and support.
Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Specialist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical matters
- Working directly with children and young people and their families, and liaising with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute trusts
- Developing links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards
- Assessing, managing, planning, and delivering care to patients allocated to you
- Supporting your peers and the team manager, and being an effective team member while working on your own initiative
- Supervising junior colleagues and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
- Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this
- Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders
- At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies

We are currently recruiting to a CAMHS Specialty Doctor position in the Havering CAMHS Community Team, based at Acorn Centre, 306 London Road, Romford, RM7 9NH. You will join two CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, another Specialty Doctors, 1wte Senior Trainee, and 1wte Core Trainee within the service, and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.
