About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at Underley Garden School, a leading provider of education and care for young people with complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities.

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing a curriculum and promoting positive relationships between peers. You will work closely with the Headteacher to create a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters the growth and development of our students.

We are looking for a teacher who shares our commitment to providing high-quality education and care, and who has a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning. Experience of working with Autistic pupils and a willingness to teach students of all ages are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Work closely with the Headteacher to create a positive and safe learning environment
  • Teach and lead on a curriculum area(s)
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to education and care
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of working with Autistic pupils
  • Ability to work with students of all ages
  • Therapeutic approach to teaching and learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Underley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing on pupils and young people, aged 5-19, who have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of education, care, and therapy to meet the individual requirements of our students.
