Reinsurance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Technician to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a Reinsurance Technician, you will play a critical role in providing technical administration support to our broking staff, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior team members to prioritize tasks and manage workload, ensuring personal and team objectives are met.
• Meet agreed targets and deadlines, providing regular updates and progress reports.
• Manage assigned projects, contributing to other projects as required, and ensuring timely completion.
• Provide relevant management information to Team Leaders, supporting informed decision-making.
• Assist in creating comprehensive client and broking documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Process slips, quotes, indications, and endorsements, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance.
• Perform technical duties, including data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legal changes.
• Maintain accurate records on Company systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Respond promptly to urgent issues, providing effective solutions and support.
• Interpret instructions and issues, implementing actions according to policies and procedures.
• Develop strong relationships with Business Units, supporting collaborative working and effective communication.
• Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers, and third parties, providing timely and accurate responses.
• Support client renewals and mid-term adjustments, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Respond to client requirements, providing tailored solutions and support.
• Behave with all clients fairly and ethically, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
• Share information that benefits the Operating Entity/Group, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
• Actively undertake personal development, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and understanding of best practice.
• Remain aware of external, industry, legal, and regulatory developments, ensuring practice and outputs meet the highest standards.

Requirements:

• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to undertake and demonstrate competence in technical training, as required by the industry regulator.
• Technical expertise in allocated business lines, developed through experience and training.
• Preference given to applicants with experience in Insurance or customer-facing environments.
• Attention to detail, with ability to produce accurate documentation.
• Ability to work optimally within a team, supporting colleagues and responding to queries.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders.
