Reinsurance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Technician to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a Reinsurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical administration support to our broking staff, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior team members to prioritize tasks and manage workload, ensuring that personal and team objectives are met.
• Meet agreed targets and deadlines, providing regular updates and progress reports.
• Manage assigned projects, contributing to other projects as required, and providing relevant management information to the Team Leader.
• Assist in the creation of comprehensive client and broking documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Process slips, quotes, indications, and endorsements, maintaining up-to-date records on our company systems.
• Perform technical duties, including data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
• Stay informed of all regulatory and legal changes impacting the job role, ensuring that our practices and outputs remain of a high standard.
• Develop strong relationships with our Business Units, responding to client inquiries, and providing excellent customer service.
• Deal with client renewals and mid-term adjustments, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
• Behave with all clients fairly and ethically, sharing information that benefits the Operating Entity/Group.
• Actively undertake personal development, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and understanding of best practice.

Requirements:

• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to undertake and demonstrate competence in technical training, as required by the industry regulator.
• Technical expertise in allocated business lines, developed with experience in the role.
• Preference given to applicants with experience in Insurance or customer-facing environments.
• Attention to detail, with ability to produce accurate documentation.
• Ability to work optimally within a team, answering queries from less expert members of staff.
• Confident communication, both written and verbal.
