About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Reinsurance Administration Specialist to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical administration support to our broking staff. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth execution of our operations and providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with senior team members to prioritize tasks and achieve personal and team objectives.
  2. Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required.
  3. Provide relevant management information to team leaders when needed.
  4. Assist in creating comprehensive client and broking documents.
  5. Process slips, quotes, indications, and endorsements.
  6. Perform technical duties, including data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities.
  7. Stay informed of regulatory and legal changes affecting your role.
  8. Ensure up-to-date records are maintained on our systems.
  9. Respond to urgent issues as they arise.
  10. Implement actions according to policies and procedures.
  11. Develop strong relationships with business units.
  12. Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers, and third parties.
  13. Handle client renewals and mid-term adjustments.
  14. Respond to client requirements.
  15. Behave with fairness and ethics towards all clients.
  16. Share information beneficial to the operating entity/group.
  17. Undertake personal development to stay up-to-date with best practice.
  18. Remain aware of external, industry, legal, and regulatory developments.
  19. Keep informed of relevant legal and regulatory developments.

Requirements:

  1. Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Ability to undertake and demonstrate competence in technical training.
  3. Technical expertise in allocated business lines (developed with experience).
  4. Preference given to applicants with insurance or customer-facing experience.
  5. Attention to detail with ability to produce accurate documentation.
  6. Ability to work optimally within a team and answer queries from less expert members.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
