Make a Difference in Highway Development

Working in the Highway Development Implementation team at South Gloucestershire Council, you will have the opportunity to develop your civil engineering skills and progress your career in a dynamic and fast-growing region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design and implementation of developer-funded highway works, ensuring compliance with national and local standards.
  • Visit development sites and collaborate with developers, consultants, and contractors to ensure highway works meet technical approvals and standards.
  • Assist in checking developer submissions to ensure compliance with national and local standards, promoting safe working practices and adherence to Health and Safety policies.
Requirements:
  • Working towards or partly qualified with a professional or technical qualification, such as HNC/HND, EngTech.
  • Considerable relevant experience in civil engineering or a technical discipline, including managing technical aspects of projects.
  • Working knowledge of highway infrastructure, technical specifications, legislation, and codes of practice.
  • Experience with drafting technical reports for professionals and elected members.
