Job Title: Public Health Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Analyst to join our team at Northumbria. As a Public Health Analyst, you will play a key role in leading analytical development and capability of the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) work with partners in Public Health and Police.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality assurance of VRU and Police Analytical support
  • Production of the annual Strategic Needs Assessment to ensure it provides high-quality public health data analysis, and intelligence that will inform partners to target resources across Northumbria
  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a public health or research/analytical related field
  • Highly numerate with highly developed analytical skills to present complex and/or sensitive information clearly
  • Knowledge of public health and demographic data sources and datasets
  • An understanding of health inequalities and the social determinants
  • Knowledge concerning statistical techniques and procedures relevant to the analysis and interpretation of health data sets, such as standardisation, confidence intervals, statistical process control
